IT
Service Management (ITSM) is the generic term used for
managing IT processes.
iITIL®
was a term coined by the UK governement
almost 20 years ago yet today it
is still catching on, more than
ever. ITIL® no longer consists of the two main areas of
Service Support and Service Delivery
plus 6 others.
In
Jun 2007 the new ITIL®V3 books were release
consisiting of 5 main publications.
The V3 publications have in essence
taken the 8 previous books of version
2 and incorporated into V3.
In
ITIL®V3 many more Processes and Functions have been added
as opposed to the 10 processes
and one function in the ITIL V2
Service Delivery and Service Support
books.
ITSM
continues to be adopted by multinational
company's around the world. With
so much interest ITIL has developed
a ITSM Expert program
which is now partially available.
